For my still lifes, I chose to try a range of different scenes. My first photo, I really liked the texture of a pair of my cowboy boots because of the the dust, and imperfections of the boots. I feel that's what gives this photo character. The creativity I feel, is that I paired the boots with the wood in the background which gives it a rugged feel to it. The wood also acts as a compositional piece, where it serves as leading lines. The lines in the wood lead the eye to the boots. Also the boots aren't right in the middle but pushed off to the side where it fits the rule of thirds composition.
My second photo, I feel the creativity is the sun shining right up top. Although there is a glare, and I should've been shooting from the other side, I feel the sun adds depth to the photo and makes it look cool and different. The slant of the bench also adds a different angle in the picture. The compositions that I used were also leading lines, light, and color. The light creates a nice shadow and the color makes the eye jump towards the flower.
For my third photo, I wanted to create a balance. I feel I did that by stacking the dice and having a single one in the front. So it's not overwhelming with red dice. The one in front I feel is a different color and makes it somewhat of repetition with variety. Another composition that I used was pattern, from the continuously stacked dice. This photo is creative because of the stacking. It's a different way of arranging dice, and it makes me feel of a "game-night" or "family-night".
Finally my last photo, I recreated a restaurant scene. The creativity in this photo is the pop of color in the napkin and also that it's outdoors and a tree is in the background, which isn't normal for most scenes like this. Texture in the silverware was a composition I used along with pattern, lighting, and that it's simple but there is depth in the photo from the way I changed up the lighting in the photo.
